Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
How do I get referred for treatment Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?
Even though many health practitioners recommend our services to their clients, you do not need a referral to have hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment. Once you have decided that hyperbaric oxygen is right for you, a consultation is scheduled for patient evaluation using criteria established by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. Our team works in concert with other clinicians caring for the patient so that hyperbaric oxygen treatments are coordinated with other therapies. Throughout the course of treatment, regular progress reports are sent to the patient’s other physicians, documenting the patient’s progress.
Are there any side effects?
Generally, patients do not experience side effects from HBOT. However, as with any physical treatments, some side effects may occur. Even though these side effects are rare, they are discussed with patients prior to treatment. Some conditions require special precautions and a few conditions preclude treatment.
